Trek along the Markha River through central Ladakh, one of the world’s highest inhabited regions. The trail offers dramatic views of the Great Himalayan, Ladakh, and Zanskar ranges. Cross high mountain passes, walk past willow groves and alpine meadows, and encounter nomadic settlements. The highlight is camping at Nyimaling, below the towering Kang Yatse peak.
After acclimatization in Leh, the trek explores the heart of the Ladakh Valley, crossing Stok La (4848 m), Gandla La (4878 m), and Kongmaru La (5200 m), while following the Markha River through remote villages.
Day 01: Arrive Delhi
Arrival and transfer to hotel. Introduction to Delhi, a historic city shaped by multiple dynasties and colonial planning.

Day 02: Delhi – Leh
Transfer to Leh. Day at leisure for acclimatization. Evening walk through Leh Market, Leh Palace ruins, Leh Gompa, and Shanti Stupa.

Day free for acclimatization and rest.

Day 04: Leh – Shey – Stok – Base of Stok La
Visit Shey Monastery and Stok Palace Museum. Begin trek towards the base of Stok La with a gradual ascent.

Day 05: Base of Stok La – Stok La – Rumbak
Cross Stok La (4800 m) with a steep ascent followed by a descent to the shepherd village of Rumbak.

Day 06: Rumbak – Gandla La – Skiu
Trek over Gandla La (4878 m) and descend into the Markha Valley, reaching Skiu village.

Day 07: Skiu – Markha
Easy trek along the Markha River to Markha village, the largest settlement in the valley.

Day 08: Markha – Hankar
Gradual trek through scenic terrain to Hankar village.

Day 09: Hankar – Nyimaling
Trek to the high-altitude pasture of Nyimaling, surrounded by panoramic mountain views.

Day 10: Nyimaling
Rest day. Optional hike towards the Kang Yatse glacier area (mountaineering ascent requires special permits).

Day 11: Nyimaling – Kongmaru La – Chugdo
Steep ascent to Kongmaru La (5200 m), followed by a long descent to Chugdo.

Day 12: Chugdo – Hemis – Thiksey – Leh
Trek down to Hemis. Visit Hemis Monastery, the largest in Ladakh, then continue to Thiksey Monastery before returning to Leh.

Day 13: Leh Monasteries
Half-day tour visiting Shankar, Spituk, and Phyang monasteries.

Day 14: Leh – Delhi
Return to Delhi. Sightseeing includes Old Delhi highlights such as Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk, Red Fort, Raj Ghat, India Gate, President’s House, Humayun’s Tomb, and Qutub Minar.

Day 15: Depart Delhi
Tour concludes. Transfer for onward journey with lasting memories of Ladakh.
