Chalo bulawa aya hai, Mata ne bulaya hai”
Meaning: “Let us go, the call from the Goddess has come.”

Vaishno Devi ShrineHave you ever witnessed God or felt a holy presence? If you have a wish that seems impossible to fulfill, the essence of the above hymn explains it all.

Every Indian is familiar with this popular hymn. Vaishno Devi, a world-famous religious shrine in Jammu and Kashmir, is perched on the Trikuta Hills. Located 13 km from Katra, it is also called Vaishnavi, Trikuta Bhagwati, or Mata Rani. This religious pilgrimage destination attracts millions of pilgrims every year.

The shrine is dedicated to worshipping the Mother Goddesses - Mahasaraswati, Mahalakshmi, and Mahakali. The 30 m long cave shrine is entered in small groups, requiring a walk through a narrow passage sometimes inundated with ice-cold water to reach the holy sanctum.

Revered as one of the 108 Shakti Peethas in India, visitors should explore the best features of the Vaishno Devi Travel Guide to maximize their pilgrimage experience. Do not miss visiting the Bhairon Nath Shrine on your return, located 2.5 km from the main shrine.
